Each year the Paterson Federation of the Knights of Columbus makes available a partial scholarship for Catholic students who will attend Catholic High Schools. The scholarship is open to students who currently attend public or Catholic schools. The scholarship is $1,000 each year for four years paid to the school in the student's name.
St. Philip the Apostle Knights of Columbus Council 11671 was chartered by the Supreme Council on November 6, 1995 with 43 names contained on the charter. Currently there are more than 300 members in the council. The present Grand Knight is David Cordero and there have been nine Past Grand Knights. They are Gerard Valdero, Leon Doty, Robert Martin, Nick Mangone, Paul Doviak, Steven Kishel, Ray Lill, Carlos Roco and Jack Jaeger. The council meets on the first and third Wednesday nights of the month at 8 PM at the Molloy Center's Marian Hall.
The qualifications for membership in the Knights of Columbus are set down by the Supreme Council. They are as follows: "Only practical Catholics in union with the Holy See shall be eligible to and entitled to continue membership in the Order. An applicant for membership shall not be less than 18 years of age on his last birthday." There are no other requirements. Those wanting to join the K of C at St. Philip's should fill out a Form 100 sections 3 and 4, the Applicant’s Interests/Preferences and sign it in section 6 where indicated (see link below) and then contact our Membership Committee Chairman Mr. Ken Papuzenski at (973) 478-3492 or simply drop it in the weekly collection basket.
