Blessed to be Good News as Love in Action
Philip said to Jesus, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long, and you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father?’ Do you not believe that I am in the Father and that the Father is in me…? If you cannot believe it because I say it, believe it because of the works I do. This is the truth I tell you – you will do the works I do and even greater works than these.”

Unlike its predecessors, this window is set out of time in an eternal perspective. Philip receives Christ’s blessing to be good news as love in action with an expression of serenity and with a gesture of gratitude. Notice that this image of Jesus is post -Resurrection which is clear from the mark of the wounds on Christ’s hands. Jesus is wearing the stole of service and a vestment as our High Priest. Our Lord gestures, beckoning Philip and us to go forth to do the works of Christ and greater works.
