The Valley of Grace
When the first Pastor and parishioners walked on this sloping hillside in the Clifton Valley that would one day house Saint Philip the Apostle Church, they strolled through fields of daffodils. Notice the lovely daffodils that ground the window and symbolize our early history. See the hills and sunrise that proclaim with the hovering Spirit of Hope and Peace that Christ is the Light of the World. The overall heart shape reflects our mission to be Love in Action. If you look closely, you may find misspellings and punctuation mistakes etched into the window. The spiritual way to view this very human condition is found in the Native American culture that always adds what is called a “humble bead,” which is an intentional built-in error to remind all parties involved that to be human is to be imperfect. This lovely tradition reinforces each community’s responsibility to help one another.
